Why?Ī8: I would like to thank my Dad and my Mom, who supported me all those years. My dad is a National Sales Director for Agropur Division Natrel, which is a cooperative manufacturing milk products. My mom is a former nurse, she is now working in the administration side for a hospital. Q7: Tell us some interesting facts about your family.Ī7: I have one 21-year-old brother named Arnaud, we are very close each other. In my birth year of 1994 and the 1995 year, there were six players selected in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Entry Draft and three are currently playing in the league today. We have a lot of farm market garden produces. It is a small city suburb of 10,000 people, which is on the South Shore of Montréal. Tell us about your hometown of Mercier, Que.Ī6: My home town is Mercier, Que. Q6: You were born in Châteauguay, Que, however your hometown is Mercier, Que. After being drafted, I took part in a mini-camp in June with the Islanders and I have to say it is a first class organization and I am very pleased to have been selected by them. I have to admit I was really hoping to be drafted. I did have a great interview with the Islander last December, but I tried to expect anything. What were your thoughts on being selected by the Islanders?Ī5: Just being selected in the National Hockey League early in round four is a dream come true. Q5: You were drafted by the New York Islanders at the 2012 National Hockey League Entry Draft in round four, 103rd overall. Also, I’m very pleased to be in the same alignment of talented defenseman like Woody (Stephen Woodworth), (Jonathan) Oligny and (Justin) Haché. Today I am trying to give back the same way I learned from players like Spencer Metcalfe and Taylor MacDougall. I’m very fortunate to have had the chance to play with such talented players such as Morgan Ellis, it is priceless. I still have a lot to learn but I think I am improving season after season. What do you feel you bring to the clubs defense core this season with two years in the league under your belt?Ī4: Experience, stability and a team player is the three words that come to mind.

Q4: You have played two full seasons with the Screaming Eagles to this point. I would like to thank Bob Johnson, who believe in me and gave me the opportunity to play in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. I did have 15 interviews before the draft and I always had a feeling that Cape Breton would pick me and I am very happy they did. The team pick William Carrier and myself from “Midget Espoir” and suddenly the year after more scouts were watching kids from that league.
Only a few Major Junior Hockey scouts were attending the “Midget Espoir” games, however the Cape Breton hockey staff was always there. He gave me a lot of ice time and it built my confidence. Tell us about your draft year and what was going through your mind when Cape Breton made their selection.Ī3: I must say many thanks to my Midget coach Paul Andre Begin, who believed in me and was a big part of my early selection. Q3: You were drafted by the Screaming Eagles at the 2010 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Entry Draft in round two, 23rd overall. I did not play ‘AAA’ hockey because the following year I made the Screaming Eagles. Five guys from that team have been drafted in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, my defense partner Yan Dumontier is currently playing for Shawinigan. It was quite a journey with this team, winning a championship and one tournament.
Q2: Where did you play your Midget hockey?Ī2: I played my Midget year for the Patriotes Midget Espoir team in Beauharnois, Que. During my Peewee ‘AA’ year, we went to the biggest International tournament in the world in Quebec City, where among 56 teams we made it to the final four. Q1: Tell us about your Minor Hockey career.Ī1: I played my minor hockey in Chateauguay, Que., in each category Novice to Midget.
